“It was the best Father’s Day ever,” my husband exclaimed after a loud family dinner, playtime and screamfest with his father, two of our daughters, one son-in-law, and two little granddaughters, 4 and 2.

The reason: the ultimate consolation for old age – the love of grandchildren – along with the funny Q&A they gave him to mark the occasion. It was entitled “All About Papa.” Apparently, our daughter posed the questions and recorded the answers of the Twirlers. It’s amazing how closely they have paid attention to him so far in their little lives:

Favorite nickname: Boppa

Favorite animal: ducks

Naughtiest thing he has ever done: give himself a spanking

Favorite thing to watch on TV: Huskers or Paw Po (Paw Patrol)

Favorite store: Menard’s

Favorite game: “Tickle You”

His personal favorite was “How old is Papa”? The 2-year-old replied, “2.” The 4-year-old was much more realistic: “51.” Papa, who is considerably older than that, LOVED both answers.

My personal favorite was: Where is his favorite place to go on vacation?

Answer: Mt. Everest

What? Guess they think he is big, he thinks big, and he does big things. He has never been mountain-climbing and never been anywhere near the world’s highest place. But THEY think Boppa can do ANYTHING!!!

Told you they are the princesses of the kingdom of Random. May their whimsical spirits ever reign.

A gray head is a crown of glory;

it is found in the way of righteousness.
