I’m distraught over the terrible and despicable verbal and visual beating the New York City police force took today, from the increasingly violent, threatening and chaotic mob. Last year, they threw water and bottles at the policeand taunted them. But now there’s a scary, mean, depraved tone to their “protests.”

Please view this as a sober reality-check. I apologize for the curse words and lewd visuals that are so offensive, but important for citizens to observe:

Now compare this treatment to the demonstrations of love, admiration and respect that the NYPD received, and deservedly so, after their remarkable heroism in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers. That was just a few years ago.

That’s the thing about mobs. Our Savior Jesus knows this. The same mob that “Hosanna’ed” Him into Jerusalem screamed for His death just a few days later. Mobs can turn on you in a . . . well, a . . . New York Minute.

Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.

But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.

And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done?

I have found no cause of death in him:

I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.

And they were instant with loud voices,

requiring that he might be crucified.

And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
