When we were moving into our first home, I got lazy after 14,000 trips bringing stuff in. Packing is so tiresome! So I just picked up our little wine rack with its 8 or 10 bottles and put it in the car. When I got there, I started carrying it up the front sidewalk.

CRASH!!! It tipped. All the bottles slid out and broke on the pavement. Glass was everywhere. What a waste! What would the new neighbors think when they caught a whiff?!? The Lush Family is moving in!!!

Of course I should have wrapped each bottle and transported the wine in a safer, more effective way. Too soon old, too late smart!

Well, it has recently dawned on me that I have been as careless with my life’s mission, that of storytelling to show people Who Jesus is, and to refresh and encourage His believers. Most of my publishing has been on Facebook. In the early years, it was great!

Too late, I come to find out that it is no longer the best vehicle for me.

So, like so many others, I am switching to a new social networking venue – MeWe.com.

I’ll still be emailing stories through my blog, www.RadiantBeams.org, and will probably keep posting on Facebook for a while. If you don’t want to join MeWe, you can always go to my blog and subscribe to the email. Stories come out on a creatively inconsistent time schedule – when the Spirit leads, I guess. They are free, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Point is this: remember in Matthew 9:16,17, when Jesus tells His disciples that you can’t sew new, unshrunken cloth onto old, because the seams will tear . . . and you can’t put still-fermenting new wine into old wineskins, because the wine will burst out and be wasted, like the wine on my old sidewalk?

Same thing with my stories and Facebook. I saw the movie “Social Dilemma” and learned about the manipulation and data collection going on behind the scenes. I saw the censorship and an awful lot of ungodly nastiness on Facebook. It is not a place for me any more.

It will be hard to leave – custom is a tyrant – but I think the “wine” of my writing might do more good elsewhere. So I’m moving on.

Hope to see you as an email subscriber, or on MeWe!

Therefore if any man be in Christ,

he is a new creature:

old things are passed away;

behold, all things are become new.
